Pricing FAQs

How does Tax Cloud's pricing work?

Your Tax Cloud fee is a tiered percentage based on your R&D tax benefit.

The fee is 10% for a tax benefit of up to €200,000. Any additional benefit is charged at a rate of 5%.

For example, for a claim receiving €300,000 of tax benefit, the fee would be €25,000 + VAT:

  • €200,000 x 10% = €20,000
  • €100,000 x 5% = €5,000

All claims are subject to a minimum fee of €2,750 + VAT.

What does 'tax benefit’ mean?

Your R&D tax credit may come as a cash payment from Revenue, a reduction in Corporation Tax, or even as bonuses to be paid to key employees.

Our fee is based on the total of your benefit from Revenue.

What is the minimum fee, and when does it apply?

All claims are subject to our minimum fee of €2,750 + VAT. In practice, this affects claims receiving a tax benefit of up to €27,500.

What are Tax Cloud's payment terms?

All our fees are subject to VAT at the prevailing rate.

The invoice is due for payment within 45 days from the invoice date.

The amount you can receive from Revenue in cash or as an overpayment of tax are received in three annual instalments:

  • Year 1: The greater of 50% of the credit or the first-year threshold (€75,000, or €87,500 for accounting periods beginning 1 January 2026)
  • Year 2: 30% of the credit (or three fifths of the remaining balance)
  • Year 3: 20% of the credit (or the remaining balance)

What's included in the Tax Cloud service?

At Tax Cloud, we support your R&D tax credit claim and ensure that it is compliant with Revenue's legislation and guidelines for a qualifying claim.

We achieve this by reviewing the work you submit through the Tax Cloud portal and leaving comments and edits on the portal. We will only approve work that we believe satisfies Revenue's criteria for qualification.

Tax Cloud’s specialists are also available via phone, email or our live chat for advice or additional support.

Should Revenue open an audit or raise any enquiries into the submitted claim, Tax Cloud’s specialists respond to Revenue on your behalf for which no additional fee will be charged.

Can I cancel during the claim process?

Tax Cloud has multiple stages for you to submit your work for review. If your projects are approved (the first stage) by our R&D tax specialists, you are committed to complete that claim.

However, if we determine there are no qualifying projects or costs for your claim at any stage, we will cancel the claim on your behalf and you will not be charged any fees.
